Audio games:

Hoewel Demor natuurlijk verder gaat dan de doorsnee audiogame, zijn er steeds meer audiogames de moeite waard om te bekijken en te spelen.

AudioGames.net

"AudioGames.net aims to promote audiogames and support and inform the audiogame community. By providing a clear view on the audiogame genre we also contribute to evergrowing game industry who is only just now beginning to recognize some of the potentials of sound."

Audyssey Magazine.org
"Audyssey Magazine is a great resource for the blind and visually impaired gaming community. It is an online magazine devoted to the discussion of accessible computer games."

Drive
"The 'Drive' project (which was also developed by HKU students) researches the possibilities of using sound as the main fundamental throughout a design process. Drive (or Sneller in Dutch) is a racing game completely based on sound."

The Blind Eye.com
"The purpose of the Blind Eye Project has been to develop a game where the users navigate 3D-soundscapes on a ordinary PC."

Location-based games/art:

In Demor wordt direct gebruik gemaakt van de positie van de speler. Hieronder een aantal andere spel- en kunstconcepten die gebruik maken van de locatie van de speler.

It’s Alive
"Launching the worlds first location-based game BotFighters (http://www.botfighters.com) in 2000, It’s Alive is now working with mobile operators, media companies in creating games that will redefine gaming in the 21st century."

Blast Theory

3d audio software/engines:

Hoewel voor het geluid van Demor gebruikt wordt gemaakt van een zelf geschreven audio-engine, zijn er ook kant en klare software oplossingen op de markt. Onder andere:

AM:3D - Diesel Power SDK
World leading researchers in sound and acoustics at the university of Aalborg, Denmark, have studied how our ears perceive sound in three dimensions, and subsequently developed the worlds most advanced non-individual HRTF-database. AM:3D has, on this basis, created a (commercial available) 3D Audio engine, named: DieselPower.

SpinAudio Software – VST/DX Plug-ins
3D Panner Motion Effects (HRTF based binaural panner) and other VST en DirectX based plug-ins for creating three-dimensional sounds.

SLAB - Spatial Auditory Displays Lab
SLAB is a real-time virtual acoustic environment rendering system being developed in the Spatial Auditory Displays Lab at NASA Ames Research Center. It is available free for non-commercial use.
