Commissioned Work

The SLoT international website (2011)

I didn't know the Russian band The Slot that long when the opportunity came up for me to create their international website. I like creating things that help to make people famous. The SLoT is already big in Russia and the neighbouring countries, but they released their first international album in English on August 23rd 2011.
It was my goal to give the website a cyber punk feel. Artwork was given to me.

And for people who can speak Russian, here is the Russian website (I didn't make this one of course).

I also did something else, but that is all I can say about it ;) It was an honour to work on something for people you are a fan of.

Game art at Gatcha! Games (2011)

During the summer of 2011, I executed my summer job as a game artist at Gatcha! Games. I have created assets for a couple of games, but to date, only one has been released. It's a clone of Bejeweled. I didn't want to specifically create gems, so I came up with charms. All the charms have been made by adding circles together or cutting out pieces with circles. It was interesting to see what shapes I could come up with so that they are distinct from each other.

Another thing I made was an advertisement for their first game that had been ported to iPhone. I also needed to create it for other languages. The French one was a pain because the text was much longer than the English version.

And I also made a layout of an e-mail for a game they were launching in the Arabic countries. The interesting part here is that text was written from right to left. I'm sorry, but I don't have a screenshot of this.

Parts of Emüd at Complex Games Inc. (2011)

For my internship, I went to Complex Games Inc. in Winnipeg, Canada. Here I worked mainly on the game Emüd. This is a game for children with cancer. More info about the game can be found here.

My main task was to create mini games for the game. I made the designs, build the prototypes and eventually created the working mini games. Art was delivered to me. And I also made a couple of levels.

Later on during my internship, I had to implement the second world into the game : put the maps together, connect them, set up interactivity in the world, etc.
